GGR is the parent company to GGR UNIC and UNIC Cranes Europe, the pioneers of lifting solutions. From our origins as the UK’s leading provider of vacuum lifting equipment for glass; GGR UNIC’s crane hire division was established in 2001. UNIC Cranes now operates a fleet of more than 90 spider cranes in the UK alone and is the most widely used crane in Europe.
The new AirLift series of spider cranes are another engineering innovation from GGR. Precision design combined with advanced technology, has resulted in the production of the world’s first fully Atex certified Zone 1 compliant series of compressed, air powered spider cranes.
The EU ATEX 94 (ATmosphere EXplosives) Equipment Directive came into effect in the UK in March 1996. This required the classification of working areas into zones, where hazardous explosive atmospheres may exist and prohibits the use of petrol or gas engine.
Developed primarily for the petrochemical, offshore and underground controlled sectors, the AL Series of spider cranes provide the ideal compact lifting solution, easily transportable by land, sea and air. Additionally, all models are designed to be disassembled into component form for helicopter transportation to remote locations.
Engineered for working in Zone 1 and Zone 2 environments, all models offer minimum disruption to the user due to their light weight, small footprint, low point loadings and ease of installation. Additionally, their compact size makes them ideal for confined spaces and areas with restricted access.
The GGR AirLift series of spider cranes are incredibly compact, yet offer the capacity and reach of much larger machines with advanced features, including full safe load indicators, work area limitation and radio remote control with digital feedback.
