The launch of the world's first air powered mini crane by GGR UNIC, at the Intermat Exhibition in Paris, represented many months of hard work and development by the team at GGR. The new AL Series was the main focus of attention on the GGR UNIC stand, as two (of out of the six) models were on show – the AL529 and AL660.
The ground breaking black and bright yellow air powered mini cranes, have been specifically adapted for use in hazardous offshore and petrochemical environments, as well as underground controlled sectors.
"We want GGR to continue leading the way as an innovator in the mini crane market", states Graeme Riley, Chief Executive Officer of GGR. "Our new AL series is a massive step forward; as our air powered cranes are the only ones that meet all the EU Directive safeguards, required for operating lifting equipment in potentially explosive areas".
The AL series is classified to operate in Zone 1 and Zone 2 environments and meets the requirements of the EU ATEX 95 Equipment Directive, making the cranes the safe lifting solution. Zone 1 certification was awarded by Sira, the world leader in conformity assessment solutions, specialising in explosion safety of equipment used in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Commenting on the potential for the new AL series, Graeme adds; "The new range will provide guaranteed safety for contractors working in these dangerous and usually confined areas, allowing work to be completed quickly with minimum disruption".
